Advice, money and people

Family offices and wealth managers.

Where it usually hurts first

Putting a family's statements together takes days every quarter.

Where we would start: Consolidated statements. Reads statements from banks, brokers, custodians and funds into one view, with every figure traced to its statement and gaps flagged.

An example, never a client's result

Safe to say yes, in writing.

  1. “I'll pay and nothing will work.”
It has to pass on your old work before it touches today's.
  2. “The price will creep.”
One fixed price, in writing, before any work.
  3. “I'll be locked in.”
Stop any month and keep everything.

Your week, as it runs today.

Wealth managers, distributors and family offices earn fees on the assets they advise or manage, or trail commissions on the products they distribute, so revenue grows with assets and with the time advisers spend with clients. India had more than 300 family offices in 2024, up from about 45 in 2018 (PwC), and about 1.78 lakh mutual fund distributors (Cafemutual, April 2025). The work is onboarding, risk profiling, research, rebalancing, consolidated reports across banks and custodians, compliance and client meetings.

  1. 01

A family's statements from eight banks and three brokers arrive as PDFs in different formats.

  2. 02

The quarterly review deck takes two days per client.

  3. 03

A client asks on WhatsApp what the budget means for his portfolio.

  4. 04

Compliance needs the risk profile and suitability notes for last month's switches.

  5. 05

An adviser spends Friday on paperwork instead of meeting clients.

What it costs.

A study, 2019

Our advisers spend more time on paperwork than with clients.

And the rest of the week

  1. No number yet

Putting a family's statements together takes days every quarter.

No figure we can stand behind yet, so we print none.

  2. A study, 2025

Client data is the most sensitive thing we hold, and staff paste it into free AI tools.

77% of staff who use AI tools paste data into them, and 82% of those pastes come from personal accounts the company can't see (LayerX, October 2025). In India the average data breach cost Rs 22 crore in 2025, and unapproved AI use added about Rs 1.8 crore to it (IBM Cost of a Data Breach, India, 2025).

  3. No number yet

Complaints and inspections arrive with every new rule.

No figure we can stand behind yet, so we print none.

  4. A study, 2014

We find out a client moved money when the statement shows it.

Bain research found that raising customer retention by 5% lifts profits by 25% to 95%, and winning a new customer costs 5 to 25 times as much as keeping one (Harvard Business Review, 2014).

  5. Our own sum

A client calls at 8 pm after a market fall, and nobody picks up.

One client with Rs 5 crore under advice who moves after an unanswered evening call takes Rs 5 lakh a year of fees at 1%.

What we would build

Ten systems for wealth management, under the six offers.

We plan the whole company, then build the first three. The usual first build here is marked, and the window beside the cards shows the one you are reading.

Consolidated statements, the usual first build here. Shown with sample data.

Get paidYou did the work. The money shouldn't take 90 days.

  1. 01

  2. 02

The review deck drafts itself from that view and the adviser's notes.

  3. 03

Clients get answers drafted from their own portfolio, sent after the adviser checks them.

  4. 04

Suitability notes are drafted at the time of advice and filed with the call notes.

Signs it is time.

  • Quarterly reports are built in spreadsheets.
  • Advisers are at their limit of clients.
  • A new family or a large mandate is coming on board.
  • A regulator's inspection or new circulars are due.
  • The founders worry about client data in AI tools.

Who decides.

The founder or chief executive of the wealth firm or family office, with the chief investment officer or head of operations.

Why this time is different.

AI that was bought and changed nothing.

A tool was bought and nobody owned the job. We take the whole job, test it on your past work, and stay to run it.

What wealth managers ask first.

Who says yes before anything goes out?

The person who owns that job at your company today. You name them when we write the rules with you. Inside those rules the agent acts at once. Anything outside them waits for one tap from the person named, on their phone, ready to approve or to change.

Do we have to change the software we use?

No. We build around the systems you already run, in accounts in your company's name, and we confirm each one before we start.

What does it cost?

There is no price on this page, because it depends on the work. After the session you get a written proposal with the scope, the test it has to pass, who works on it and one fixed price, before any work.

Where we would start for wealth management: Get paid

You did the work. The money shouldn't take 90 days.

The invoice goes out the day the job is done, and it is followed up politely until it is paid or your person takes over.

What changes. The bill goes the day the proof arrives, the follow up happens without you, and no supplier bill is paid unchecked.

What we measure, before and after. Days from work done to invoice, days from invoice to money in and supplier bills paid without a check.

The old way keeps running until the new one has passed on your own work.

What costs your practice most? Bring us that.

45 minutes on a video call with our founder and the people who live with the problem. Nothing to sign. You leave knowing what we would build first, and why.
